He first ever 2011 Indian Grand Prix is all set to get underway at Buddh International Circuit at Greater Noida. Narain Karthikeyan, 34, who will be representing Hispania Racing Team (HRT), said that being a small team their main aim would be to finish the race. This week, Narain took a few rounds of the Buddh International Circuit in a Mercedes safety car.
Setting sights on gaining points for the team would be too much to ask just yet so he will be concentrating on completing the race. Speaking about the newly laid circuit, Karthikeyan said that it was an exceptional one and drivers needed to be technically sound to take on this challenge. He noticed that there were many elevations and overtaking opportunities were plenty.
Karthikeyan said the circuit was one of the best he has ever seen and rated it in the top five tracks of the world. He hoped that these events would draw interest of more Indian drivers to the sport. Indian racing fans are eagerly awaiting the events which are guaranteed to offer spectacular entertainment yet to be witnessed on Indian soil.
